Argento/Graham partnered with Related Companies and Handel Architects to earn LEED Silver certification for Coterie Cathedral Hill, a new luxury senior living community in the heart of San Francisco which opened in March of 2022. The property was designed with efficiency in mind and utilizes ENERGY STAR certified appliances, low flow plumbing fixtures, and electric vehicle charging in the parking garage. Innovative health and wellness amenities for the residents include a Circadian lighting system that helps regulate residents’ sleep and mood by harnessing natural light, a rooftop garden with gardening plots available for residents’ use, and rooftop pool access for aqua therapy sessions.
Coterie Cathedral Hill replaced a vacant office building, with the design incorporating 7,000 square feet of ground floor retail to attract foot traffic, while the building’s main entrance has been set back from the street into a landscaped plaza. Nearby streets were enhanced by new street trees, decorative pavers, upgraded lighting, enhanced planting strips and concrete seat-wall elements for pedestrians.
USGBC awarded LEED Silver certification to the project in May, 2022.
